A response to the concept of spirit+ritual and Christian witchcraft.

There has been a video where a pastor puts forth a practice of summoning human spirits of difficult children and enemies and that it has worked for him. There was also another speaking about rituals being alright as long as it’s “biblical”. The individual admitted to being a ritualist and would rather use  “biblical ritual” to kill enemies rather than be killed. An example was given of someone taking the picture of a perceived enemy pouring things over it and praying.

One more was the justification of a sect called the Christian witch.

The end does not justify the means in the Kingdom of God.
He is a God of order who has protocol about everything. How He dealt with the children of Isreal and the rigors of serving Him displayed in the laws He gave Moses show His nature and character. There was practically a - how to - for various living scenarios captured in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy. Have you wondered why God was so granular?

In the faith and in the dispensation of grace we are also governed by laws. For those of us who think that the law is to be done away with completely, have we ever considered that the God of the New Testament is not different from the God of the old? Do we think He just changed and that in the grace era anything goes? Absolutely not. Scripture is clear that Jesus came to fulfil the law. He fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law so that it can also be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the dictates of the flesh but of the Spirit. ”Do not think that I have come to do away with or undo the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to do away with or undo but to complete and fulfill them.“ Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬.

When we come into Christ we come under grace and also under the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. ”For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

It is a new Kingdom, with its own set of rules and laws that govern the manner of operation. It is completely different from wherever we came from prior to Christ.
What is grace in its true definition - Grace is the power of God released towards us and that empowers us to do His will and fulfil His purpose. So the dispensation of grace is the dispensation of the power to keep Gods laws, not to do away with the laws.

All the above is laid out so we see the nature of God from what He says and what He’s done.

To God it matters more how you go about anything than the end result.
The fact that something works or produces result does not make it okay or justify the means. The fact that you have the power and ability to accomplish something does not make it okay to do it.
The fact that you have the power to accomplish something and you did accomplish it does not make it righteous.

What is righteousness? It is His absolute standard that He Himself has set as both right and just.
You can be right and not righteous because you have based your sense of right on your own standards and not on God’s. God is righteous and this may conflict with our own sense of right.

To have received the righteousness that is by faith in Christ Jesus means God by His absolute standard has credited us as righteous based solely on what Christ accomplished for us in satisfying the just requirements of the law. However having received this righteousness, being subject to God’s ongoing every demand is what we strive for in every situation also bearing in mind that the way He did it today doesn’t mean He will use the same method tomorrow. That’s righteous living.

In addressing specifics in the video, what do we mean when we say something is biblical or scriptural? Does it simply mean that we can find it written in the Bible or does it mean that it is a prescription of how to live and that God sanctions it?
”Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.“ ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭AMPC‬‬.
The fact that something can be found in the Bible does not give us a licence to carry it out. So many things, good and bad can be found in the Bible, like killing and polygamy. Should we not be guided by His laws, His Spirit and His character in discerning the purpose of every scripture as is explained in 2 Tim 3:16? Should we not understand the aspect of scripture we read and how it should be applied in our lives based on this scripture too?

You can actually use the power, gift and resources God has given to you for evil. You can actually use the spiritual access you have in God outside His will. You can pervert the purity of God’s gift and blessing. Balam’s case in point. You can knowingly and unknowingly employ the agency of demons as a Christian. This is why the means or process matters more to God than the end or result. Many people will achieve great results in time that will be an abomination to God because He did not sanction it. Many people will also disqualify themselves from carrying the full weight of the glory because they’ve polluted themselves by going outside His will to achieve results. We can’t be looking at just the results or that it works.

The traditions and religions of men can pollute and corrupt a pure stream. It takes just a little yeast to leaven the whole dough. “Watch out!” Jesus warned them. “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”“
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT.
”This false teaching is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough!“ Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬.
We need to be careful of employing the means of traditions and idolatry learned from our ancestors and past life in the Kingdom, even if they work, even if they sound right.

Pilots are taught the 1 in 60 rule, which states that after 60 miles, a one degree error in where it is heading will result in straying off course by one mile. Regular evaluation is necessary in the faith for course correction. In many cases the deviations in the church are no longer minor but full blown. It is alarming. It is the end time. Deception is the order of the day. Men will be deceived, men will want to hear what they want to hear. The very elect are at risk too.

God has never given man dominion over man. ”And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.“ ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭28‬ ‭AMPC‬‬. No man is allowed to have dominion over another man. That is not the order of God, it is not in His nature or character either.

What is witchcraft? The manipulation of others against their will to do your own bidding using means other than God.
God is the one who is the God and Father of spirits. Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬, Num 27:16.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit to affect, effect, infect and change a man’s spirit.
Everything we do as children or ministers of God that affects a man’s spirit has to be by the agency of the Holy Spirit, else it is witchcraft.

As to the Christian witch, as alarming as it sounds, when one can take a picture, pour hot water, salt and pepper, say some words that is called “prayer” so that one can make that person do what they want, I’m not sure how that isn’t Christian witchcraft.

Posture.
We need to read the scriptures and study for ourselves and ask the Holy Spirit questions. We need to be like the Berean Christians, when we hear some things, like this video, we go and search the scriptures ourselves. We need to ask questions of those we trust too. We also need to be comfortable not receiving and outrightly rejecting words preached from pulpits that are contrary to the word of God and who God is irrespective of who said it. The responsibility for your faith, your growth, your remaining pure is on you and not on the preacher. They are of great help but it matters more what you do on your own.

It also matters that we voice our questions and disagreement with things said on the pulpit to the extent that God allows us to, privately or publicly, for the sake of the one saying it (perhaps they can course correct) and for those who have heard it. It matters that we must discuss and address topics, statements, doctrines that arise in these days. ”Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.“ ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬.

Practically, how do you handle kids who won’t listen?
First and critical is our personal consecration and walk with God as parents. When this is in order, it has a way of affecting your generations, search the scriptures.
Second, speak to God about the kids in prayer, know what He says about them and declare that in prayer to God.
Third, speak to the kids themselves, tell them what is wrong, why it is wrong, the consequences of the wrong and what change is required. God has their hearts in His hand and knows how to turn them.
Do not be summoning spirits and walking naked at night and holding your breasts and doing incantations over them in the name of prayer.

How do you handle someone who is troubling you?
First if your ways please God, He makes your enemies to be at peace with you. ”When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Still there are those “enemies” who are a set up for your own promotion. Go to God in prayer, present the matter to Him. He will tell you how to proceed.
If you search the scriptures you’d see that the way God expects us to handle our enemies is so opposite to the human way. He says bless those who curse you, He says love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. He says turn your other cheek to the one who slaps you. Why? By His word and character, vengeance is the Lord’s not ours, we do not take vengeance. When you take vengeance yourself He steps away, since you can defend yourself. Please don’t be taking people’s picture, pouring hot water and salt and pepper and praying against your enemies, that is not God.

Be mindful. The devil is actively looking to pollute and corrupt everyone especially the believer by introducing mixture. Let us walk the tight rope laid before us by the help of the Holy Spirit and not knowingly or unknowingly introduce traditions, idolatry, rituals, witchcraft and demons into our walk with God.
